Sympathy:
To Mona and her family and to the O’Neill family in Milltown on the death of Kenneth O’Neill.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Mary, sons Raymond, Kenny and Niall and their wives and children.
Kenneth was well known as the owner of O’Neill’s power equipment in Milltown and at Clash Tralee.
Like so many great entrepreneurs he began his business in a shed behind his house in Woodville in Milltown in the 1980’s.
Kenneth passed away in UHK and his funeral took place in St Michaels Church in Killorglin on the 13th September followed by burial in Kilcolman Church grounds.
To the friends, neighbours and fellow parishioners of the late Amelia Day of Kilteenbane Camp who died in the care of Dingle Community hospital on Tuesday 9th September.
Amelia did not have close family relations; her nearest relatives were her third cousins the O’Sullivan’s in Dingle
However, Amelia's family was a very large one, made up of Neighbours, friends and fellow parishioners who watched out for her and looked after her so well.
Joyce O’Donnell and her family in Camp were such good neighbours and friends to Amelia, she was included in all their family events. They supported and cared for her faithfully and generously in so many ways through the years.
Amelia was present at everything that happened in Camp village and beyond.
If there was a bus or car going, then Amelia had a seat booked.
She will be missed by so many in the community and very much so by us in Kilgobbin Church where she played the CD’s up until a few months ago.
Amelia’s funeral was held in Kilgobbin Church followed by burial in the New Cemetery in Camp.
With our sympathy to the Giles family of Tralee on the death of Margaret Smyth (nee Giles) in San Francisco. She was predeceased by her husband Jimmy who was from Limerick.
Margaret is the sister of Trevor late of Oakpark, and David and Daphne who reside in the UK.
Even though Margaret lived in the US for well over 60 years she still had a great interest in Tralee and St Johns and regularly read our newsletter.
Harvests
Our Harvest Thanksgiving services took place in Kilgobbin and in Tralee on Sunday the 28th September.
The churches were wonderfully and generously prepared and decorated for the celebration.
The collection went to support the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza which is supported by the Diocese of Jerusalem and the Middle east.
The School Choir sang at the service in Tralee and it was wonderful to have them participate.
The service in Camp was an ecumenical one and the singing was led by the choir of St Mary Church.
It was followed by a very enjoyable tea in the Old School afterwards.
Many thanks to all who are worked so creatively to prepare and decorate the Churches.
They were a sight to behold. So many People went all out and I am in awe of their talent and creativity. It was feast for the eyes and senses. Many thanks to you all once again.
On the Wednesday the 1st following the harvest the school joined us once again for the school harvest celebration where they sang, led the prayers and did the readings. We were also joined by the first communion class from CBS.
Apple Trees and confirmation Certificates.
On Sunday the 19th September confirmation certificates and apple trees will be presented to those who were confirmed earlier in the year.
The trees will be a reminder that all of us have the potential to bear good fruit. Parents are encouraged to buy a second tree as a reminder of their support and the cross fertilization of ideas and encouragement that takes place in the family.
New Sign for St James Dingle
Finally, after much work our extension in St James and our visitor sign are in place.
If you happen to be in Dingle please take a look at the sign, the extension and the recently laid gravel entrance.
Thanks for all this work was given during the final graveyard service of the year in St James which was followed by tea in Paul Geaney’s pub.
All Saints tide service of remembrance.
This will be held in St Johns on the 2nd November. In preparation for this service, we will have cards available near the memory tree where anyone can write the name of those they wish to remember. Candles will also be available in St Johns on that Sunday.

4th October, Feast of St Francis of Assisi
'Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light and where there is sadness, joy.' ~St. Francis of Assisi
Very appropriate at this time.
