All Saints tide service of remembrance.

This will be held in Tralee on the 16th November. In preparation for this service cards will be available near the memory tree in St Johns to allow those who wish for a loved one to be remembered. Candles in memory of loved one will be lit during the service.

All are welcome.

The Christmas Fair will take place on Saturday December 13th in Teach an tSolais from 10am to 2pm.

This is always a wonderful community event for the Tralee, Ballymacelligott and Ballyseedy Church communities.

It brings us together; it raises our spirits as well as much needed funds for our Churches.

It’s also one of the ways in which we connect with and make our presence known in the wider community.

All the usual stalls, Baking, Jams, Christmas decorations, Silent Auction, Firewood, Guess the weight of the cake, Door Prizes, Raffles, Burgers etc and The Elves Kitchen with its mouthwatering apple pie’s teas.

1. We’re appealing for Bakers as this is probably our best seller. Spread the word to neighbours and friends to bake!!

2. The raffle and tickets will be available shortly

3. Help on the day.

Please Note: We can’t take Bric a brac, jumble or electrical items anymore.

Please contact Susie Keating at 087 9362732 if you wish to get involved.

Confirmation 2026.

Confirmation will be held in the parish on the 10th May in St Johns.

Confirmation is open to all those in 6th Class and older. Confirmation provides an opportunity for our young people and their parents and for the parish family to think again about the Christian faith and what it means, its relevance to us, and to society in general.

It is an opportunity for me to get to know the young people a little better and to share a little of the Christian faith.

At the heart of confirmation are the promises that were made for us at our baptism by parents and God parents which we confirm and make for ourselves during the confirmation service. When we make promises and give our word, we should not do so lightly but thoughtfully and prayerfully and with the intention of doing our best.

Please contact me for a chat and/or for an application form if you or a family member is interested.

Presentation of Confirmation Certificates and Apple Trees.

This took place on the 19th October in Tralee and it was lovely to welcome the young people and their parents to Church for the service.

Baptism

Congratulations to Dylan and Isabel Campbell whose daughter Orla was welcomed into the Christian family at her baptism in St Johns on the 25th October.

Other Voices

The Other Voices concert series will take place in St James church Dingle from the 25th November to the 2nd December.

This has been a wonderful experience for the parish as it brings lots of people to Dingle on that weekend and is a great boost to the local economy in so many ways.

The parish is proud and delighted to be a part of this experience.

Defibrillator training in Camp.

Camp Defibrillator Group is running a refresher course on Monday, 17th November at 7pm-7.45pm and 8pm -8.45pm. They are 2 separate sessions. the Old School.
No charge for this.

Hospital Visiting

As Rector I provide pastoral care on behalf of the Church of Ireland to the Tralee Hospitals and I am happy to call to any parishioners from my own parish and any other parish who may be in one of the hospitals or in one of the many nursing homes in the area. Please let me know if you would like a friend or loved one visited. Because of privacy regulations and GDPR we can’t be informed of Church of Ireland patients in the hospitals.

Safeguarding Trust.

This is a very important and serious requirement, and select vestries are legally obliged to have procedures in place to protect all those taking part in parish activities.

The most visible part of this ongoing work is the safeguarding notices displayed on our church and parish Centre noticeboards. These notices must clearly show who the parish safeguarding panel members are, provide relevant contact details, and include both the parish and safeguarding statements.

I would encourage all parishioners—and especially families with young people—to take a few moments to look at these notices.

All parish workers are Garda vetted, and their details are stored securely.

Please do take some time to look at the various noticeboards around the church and parish Centre.
