Christmas fair

The Christmas fair promises to be another wonderful parish fundraising and community building event. We will have all the usual stalls, fresh baking, Jams and Preserves, Christmas crafts and decorations, flower arrangements and the ever-popular Silent Auction, raffles, Guess the weight of the cake and many other delights.

Burgers and sausages, teas and coffee and apple pie will also be on offer.

It is also one of the ways in which we reach out and connect with the communities in our area. Spread the word and please come and enjoy.

Fire Safety in our Buildings

It is so important that all who use our parish buildings are aware of all the fire prevention measures and procedures relevant to each place.  With this in mind, please take note of the following: -

·               A notice is in place in each building outlining emergency evacuation procedures. Please note its contents and familiarize yourself with the exits.

·               Assembly point signs are in place outside each building.  Ensure that you know their locations.

·               Each building is equipped with fire extinguishers which are checked on a regular basis.  Note their location and know which can be used on electrical fires and which cannot.

·               We have been asked to do an evacuation drill in each building at least once a year.

This will take place in the New Year.

Tralee Flower and Garden club presents a Floral Christmas Gala by Nora Gallagher Cork in Meadowlands Hotel Monday 1st December 7.30pm.

Sympathy: To Christina Poff Ballymac and Killorglin and to Chrystal Poff Caherleaheen and their families on the death of Pat Morris from GlencarWe assure them of our prayers at this very sad time.

Hospital Visiting

As Rector I serve as the Church of Ireland chaplain to the Tralee Hospitals and I am happy to call to any parishioners from my own parish and any other parish who may be in one of the Tralee hospitals or in one of the many nursing homes in the area. Because of GDPR we are unable to access the names of parishioners who may be in hospital.

Please let me know if you know of someone who would like a visit or if you happen to be in hospital, please mention this to one of the staff or to the fulltime chaplains.

Confirmation 2025

We have been given a date by the bishop as follows, Confirmation will be held in Tralee and Dingle on the 10th May in St Johns. Confirmation is open to anyone in sixth class and older. Please let me know if you are interested, I can send an application form which needs to be completed and returned tom me as the program and enrolment service will be in New Year.

Ballymac Church: Many thanks to Aidan, Autie, Trevor and Victor who very generously raised the entrance area to the church, thereby making access easier and safer. Well done.

Be Still and Know December 18th @7.30 with the Church’s Ministry of Healing

This will be facilitated by Lydia Monds who writes as follows:

We wanted to create a space for peace during Advent for all who are involved in the busyness of the season, particularly those ministering with Children and Families.
So we are delighted to welcome Lydia Monds from the Church's Ministry of Healing who will lead us in a time of contemplative prayer.
"Be still and know" offers 30 minutes of rest, prayer and quiet reflection in the midst of all you are doing.
Open to clergy, volunteers and staff and anyone who just needs time to connect, rest and pray.
